FABP7 is also an important regulator of PUFA levels in the brain: specifically, it was observed that the expression of FABP7 in malignant glioma cells was associated with an increased ω6/ω3 ratio, suggesting the involvement of FABP7 in the dysregulation of lipid homeostasis with deleterious effects on the brain [104]. This evidence concerns the gene FABP7 and malignant glioma.
