A study led by Momozawa et al. reported the prevalence of germline variants among Japanese patients with various stages of prostate cancer (including 8% with metastatic disease): germline BRCA1, BRCA2, and ATM mutations were detected in 0.2%, 1.1%, and 0.5% of patients, respectively.17 Here, BRCA1 is linked to metastatic neoplasm.
