Adiponectin levels were significantly lower in subjects with multi-MetS than in those without (all subjects: 7.9 [5.9–9.6] vs. 11.8 [8.8–14.9] μg/mL, p = 0.001; females: 9.2 [6.2–13.3] vs. 12.0 [9.7–15.9] μg/mL, p = 0.039; males: 6.9 ± 2.4 vs. 10.0 ± 5.2 μg/mL, p = 0.013) (Figure 2). The gene discussed is ADIPOQ; the disease is metabolic syndrome.
