In our study, we observed an increase of FTO in the fatty liver of HFD mice, consistent with previous findings in the fatty liver of rats and patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (Guo et al., 2013; Lim et al., 2016), and a corresponding decrease in m6A methylation. The gene discussed is FTO; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
