Cheng et al. reported that RHBDL2 is overexpressed in the breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231 and cervical cancer cell line HeLa S3, which can cleave the EGF ligand and thereby result in the activation of EGFR signaling, finally leading to cell proliferation and reduction in cell adhesion [11].
