In cancer cells lines JAR and JEG3 cells, carvacrol induces calcium ions burden in the mitochondrial matrix via disrupting the mitochondrial membrane, suppresses extracellular signal‐regulated kinase 1/2 mitogen‐activated protein kinase (MAPK) signal transduction, also decreases the phosphoinositide 3‐kinase/protein kinase B, and increases phosphor‐P38 and c‐Jun N‐terminal kinase MAPK expressions (Chraibi et al., 2020; Lim et al., 2019). The gene discussed is JUN; the disease is cancer.
