In colorectal carcinoma cells, phosphorylation of PHB1 at Thr258 blocked by FL3 (flavaglines) results in its nuclear translocation and binding to the Axin1 promoter, inhibiting Wnt/beta-catenin signaling via PHB1-dependent activation of Axin1 and even inactivating the APC (adenomatous polyposis coli) [78]. Here, AXIN1 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
