Focusing on genes differentially expressed in the T cell subsets of ALS patients and controls, we found a set of genes that control for cellular cytotoxicity, including GNLY, GZMA, GZMB, GZMH, GZMK, PRF1, CTSW, KLRB, KLRD1, and NKG7 (Fig. 3C). The gene discussed is PRF1; the disease is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
