ITIH4 and infectious disease: The favored use of specific V genes across multiple individuals has previously been observed for mAbs against other infectious disease targets such as the influenza hemagglutinin stem (IGHV1-69) (Chen et al., 2019), Plasmodium falciparum circumsporozoite protein (IGHV3-30/IGHV3-33) (Tan et al., 2018; Murugan et al., 2018), HIV-1 gp120 CD4 binding site (IGHV1-2/IGHV1-46) (Scheid et al., 2011; Wu et al., 2011), and SARS-CoV-2 RBD (IGHV3-53/IGHV3-66) (Barnes et al., 2020; Yuan et al., 2020a).
