In studies on neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (also called Batten disease), resveratrol was found to increase the NAD+/NADH ratio and levels of ATP, p-AMPK, PGC-1α, and SIRT1, whereas decreased levels of p-S6K1 were observed in cell and mouse models of this disease treated with this compound [61]. This evidence concerns the gene PPARGC1A and juvenile neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis.
