IDH2 and acute myeloid leukemia: Targeted drug therapies for AML are available in the form of small molecule inhibitors such as FLT3 inhibitors midostaurin and gilteritinib for patients with mutation in the FLT3 gene; IDH inhibitors ivosidenib and enasidenib for patients with IDH1 or IDH2 mutation, respectively; and Bcl-2 inhibitor venetoclax and hedgehog pathway inhibitor glasdegib for patients with overexpressed bcl-2 lymphoid malignancies.
