AXL is an RTK that belongs to the TAM (TYRO3, AXL, and MERTK) family, and activation of AXL has been implicated in promoting cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT); mediating drug resistance; affecting the immune response; and indicating poor prognosis in several cancers (17–21). This evidence concerns the gene TYRO3 and cancer.
