NRP-1 is strongly expressed in the tumor vasculature and is a high-affinity co-receptor for a number of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) isoforms, particularly VEGF165, resulting in an increased affinity of VEGF165 for the extracellular domain of VEGFR2 (12, 14, 15). The gene discussed is NRP1; the disease is neoplasm.
