In another experiment by Puig-Vilanova et al. (2015), compared to healthy sedentary controls, the expression of miR-1, miR-206, and miR-27a in the lateral femoral muscle, and the levels of lysine acetylated protein, histone, acetylated histone 3, serum response factor (SRF), and follicle inhibitors were found to be elevated in all patients with COPD, while the expression of miR-133, histone deacetylase 3, HDAC4, and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) decreased. Here, IGF1 is linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
