The CC genotype was associated with higher levels of serum IL-6 (23.5 pg/ml vs. 10.5 pg/ml for the other genotypes; P = 0.006) (Figure 3), even after adjustment for age, hypertension and coronary artery disease (estimate: 13.92, 95% CI 2.16–25.68, P = 0.021). The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is coronary artery disorder.
