It has been reported that NLRP3 inflammasome activation may play an important role in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease (Zhen and Zhang, 2019), stroke (Alishahi et al., 2019; Sun et al., 2019), Alzheimer’s disease (Bai and Zhang, 2021), and cardiovascular disease (Olsen et al., 2022). This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
