Given that TLR4‐TRAM‐TRIF pathway is essential for M(Kp) activation, that this pathway controls type I IFN signalling in K. pneumoniae infections (Ivin et al, 2017), and that type I IFN signalling is a feature of IMs following Klebsiella infection, we decided to elucidate whether K. pneumoniae exploits type I IFN signalling to induce M(Kp) polarisation.
