Different reasons were given, such as: a specific diagnosis (e.g. otitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis), high CRP-value, duration of fever or illness, seriously ill child, findings on clinical examination, medical history, additional testing (e.g. x-ray, pcr), expectation of the parents, young age of the child, and timing of consultation (e.g. before the weekend). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and pneumonia.
