CEBPAN/C specific DHSs were mostly associated with downregulated genes important for myelopoiesis, including MAF and RUNX1. 72.5% of upregulated and 61.9% of downregulated genes were C/EBPα targets, demonstrating a major role of the oncogene in shaping the AML subtype-specific chromatin landscape. The gene discussed is RUNX1; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
