The TCGA database also identifies that grade 1 HNSCC tumour had significantly lower BRD4 expression than the higher grades (Fig. 2H) implicating that BRD4 is upregulated in higher grade tumours linking to their therapy resistance and that BRD4 could be a therapeutic target in HPV-positive HNSCC. Here, BRD4 is linked to head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
