To examine whether the levels of ROS and FASN are clinically relevant, we detected the levels of 8-oxoguanine (8-OxoG), indicative of oxidative DNA damage, and found FASN expression was negatively correlated with the 8-OxoG levels in p53 wild-type CRC specimens (Fig. 1H).
