As a result, we found that carriers of the APOE ε4 allele (encoded by rs429358 minor allele) who also carry minor alleles of rs2075650 (TOMM40) and rs12721046 (APOC1) SNPs were at remarkably high excess risk of AD compared with carriers of the major alleles of these two SNPs. The gene discussed is APOE; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
