We demonstrate that surgical wounding significantly increased the expression of immune cells (CD45+) (p < 0.05), macrophages (CD68+) (p < 0.05), transitional M1‐M2 macrophages (CD206+CD11c+) (p < 0.05) and M2 macrophages (CD206+) (p < 0.05), important in contributing to tumor growth and immunosuppressive function. The gene discussed is PTPRC; the disease is neoplasm.
