The expression of exosomal miR-21 and miR-155 is upregulated in SLE patients (77), and exosomal miR-146a is associated with the active lupus phase, proteinuria, and histological features, possibly by inhibiting the negative regulation of inflammation by IRAK1 and TRAF6 (78). Here, TRAF6 is linked to systemic lupus erythematosus.
