Anti-Ro/SSA and anti-La/SSB constitute a diagnostic marker for the disease, however, these autoantibodies are found in up to 30-40% and 10-15% of patients with SLE, respectively, but anti-Ro/SSA and anti-La/SSB autoantibodies are not the only ones that can be linked to SjS or SLE. This evidence concerns the gene TRIM21 and Schwartz-Jampel syndrome.
