Given that we and others previously showed that STAT3 signaling also promotes the development of acquired resistance to various therapeutic agents in PDAC and ovarian cancer models, including PARPis (5, 43–45), our current findings suggest that the ability of Niraparib to inhibit pSTAT3 can cause increased apoptosis, providing a mechanism underlying Niraparib’s more substantial antitumor effects. Here, STAT3 is linked to ovarian cancer.
