Myositis-specific autoantibodies (MSAs) and myositis-associated autoantibodies (MAAs) are clinical markers corresponding with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, including dermatomyositis (DM) and polymyositis (PM). MSAs are defined as autoantibody specificities that are considered relatively specific for DM/PM. This evidence concerns the gene MAPKAPK5-AS1 and myositis disease.
