For patients with ICDs, individuals with < 2h of active time per day were more likely to be older (72 ± 12 vs. 62 ± 14 years, N = 130 vs. 114, P < 0.0001), female (35% vs. 22%, P = 0.02), have hypertension (P = 0.01), ischemic heart disease (P = 0.002), LVEF < 35% (P = 0.003), diabetes mellitus (P = 0.01), a creatinine clearance < 60 mL/min (P < 0.001), a biventricular device (P = 0.02), and take warfarin, a HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, or an ARNI (P = 0.001, 0.04, 0.04, respectively). This evidence concerns the gene HMGCR and diabetes mellitus.
