The increase in risk of PC remained significant even after the over-adjustment for rate of PSA monitoring tests, and was over 2-fold in men with melanomas diagnosed over 10 years prior and with men diagnosed with multiple melanomas (although this latter finding should be viewed with caution given that it was based on only 7 PC cases from 71 men with more than one melanoma diagnoses). The gene discussed is KLK3; the disease is pachyonychia congenita.
