In nonsmall cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC), inhibition of TXNRD1 with siRNAs or its inhibitor, auranofin, sensitized NSCLC cells to the AKT inhibitor MK2206 treatment in vitro and in vivo, and simultaneous inhibition of TXNRD1 and AKT pathways induced robust ROS production, which was involved in c-jun-NH2-kinase (JNK) activation and cell apoptosis [29]. Here, MAPK8 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
