Subsequent studies have further linked NPAS3 aberrations to multiple human psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders, including schizophrenia (Pickard et al., 2005, 2006, 2009; Huang et al., 2010; Macintyre et al., 2010; Yu et al., 2014; Gonzalez-Penas et al., 2015), bipolar disorder (Pickard et al., 2009; Huang et al., 2010; Nurnberger et al., 2014), major depression (Huang et al., 2010), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (Weber et al., 2011), and intellectual disability (Pickard et al., 2005; Visser et al., 2010; Phelps et al., 2017).
