Additionally, in TLR2 T>C (rs4696483) polymorphism, the T/T and C/T genotypes were observed at a lower frequency in the leprosy patients than in the control group (7.2% vs. 26.8% and 39.6% vs. 48.2%, p < 0.0001), suggesting protection against leprosy disease when the T allele is present. Here, TLR2 is linked to leprosy.
