In addition, SV2B levels are decreased in epileptic models and SV2A can be decreased or increased in some epileptic patients (Contreras-García et al., 2018, Contreras-García et al., 2021, Crèvecœur et al., 2014; Feng et al., 2009; Hanaya et al., 2012; Ohno et al., 2009; Shi et al., 2015) which challenges the understanding of the role of SV2 in epilepsy.
