Compared with patients without subclinical carotid atherosclerosis, patients with subclinical carotid atherosclerosis were likely to be male and older (64.98 ± 12.02 years vs. 54.94 ± 10.90 years, p < 0.001), and showed lower ET-1 levels (P < 0.05). Here, EDN1 is linked to carotid atherosclerosis.
