Alcohol consumption at the highest intake level (> or = 10 g of alcohol per day) was associated with an increased risk of the development of ER + tumours, irrespective of PR status compared to non-drinkers (RR = 1.35; 95% CI 1.02–1.80 for ER + PR + tumours and RR = 2.36; 95% CI 1.56–3.56 for ER + PR −  tumours). This evidence concerns the gene PGR and neoplasm.
