AFP and neoplasm: The R2 subclass had larger tumor size (36 mm vs 28 mm, median; p = 0.0037), vascular invasion (45% vs 26%; p = 0.0029), advanced tumor stage (stage IV; 16% vs 5%; p = 0.0040), higher serum α-fetoprotein (AFP) (>200 ng/ml; 43% vs 18%; p = 2.9 × 10−5), and more likely to be HCV-positive (65% vs 52%; p = 0.039).
