Phenotypic analysis of B cells from CVID patients carrying the different BAFFR variants (Supplemental Figure S1) revealed only small populations of IgD− CD27+ switched memory cells, while the percentages of naïve (IgD+ CD27−) and marginal zone (MZ) B cells were in the normal range [25, 26], except for the A52T patient, who had recovered from treatment with the anti-CD20 mAb rituximab to control autoimmune cytopenia (Supplementary Fig. S1a,b). The gene discussed is TNFRSF13C; the disease is common variable immunodeficiency.
