Yuan et al. [48] in a retrospective cohort study of 112 participants, compared patients with and without AKI and identified elevated leukocytes (> 10 × 109/L) [OR 1.12 (95% CI 1.02–1.23)], high myoglobin (> 1200 ng/mL) [OR 18.51 (95% CI 1.51–132.27)], and high urinary monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) (> 200 pg/mL) [OR 5.42 (95% CI 1.27–30.39)] as independent predictors of development of AKI following wasp stings. Here, CCL2 is linked to acute kidney injury.
