There were significant positive correlations between the H-scores of TWIST1 and ZEB2 and their corresponding tumor volumes (Spearman’s correlation: TWIST1, R = 0.33, P = 0.037; ZEB2, R = 0.34, P = 0.034), and the high H-scores of TWIST1 and ZEB2 were associated with surgery invasion (Wilcoxon rank-sum test, TWIST1: P = 0.0083; ZEB2: P = 0.025) in the PIT1 lineage (Fig. 4j).
