Indeed, 14 days after the induction of myonecrosis by CTX, we still detected morphological alterations in the muscles of OPA1M/M mice in terms of fiber distribution, higher collagen deposition, and persistency of macrophages expressing higher levels of the M2 marker CD206 and Arg1 and pro-fibrosis and collagen-associated genes. This evidence concerns the gene ARG1 and gas gangrene.
