Interestingly, the new diagnosed entity of PLNTY may share the pathological characteristics with other types of brain tumors, including LEAT, oligodendroglioma, clear cell ependymoma, etc. However, molecular alterations, such as CD34 positive, lack of BRAFV600E mutation, IDH1/2 mutations and 1p19q codeletion, may be helpful to differentiated these types of brain tumors21. The gene discussed is CD34; the disease is oligodendroglioma.
