An analysis of 13 patients with LCNEC, which was conducted by Iyoda et al. [67], revealed that the IHC expression of c-KIT, HER2, and VEGF was 76.9%, 30.8%, and 100%, thus suggesting that anti-VEGF and anti-c-KIT agents may be effective in LCNEC therapy and that HER-2 expression may benefit from the treatment with trastuzumab. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma.
