Consistent with these findings, we analyzed the bronchoalveolar lavage fluids (BALF) of mice infected with 5 × 106 CFU of H99, fbp1Δ or fbp1Δ+FBP1 strain at 3 days post-infection and found that approximately 21% of recovered H99 or fbp1Δ+FBP1 cells and more than 55% of recovered fbp1Δ cells measured over 10 μm in cell body size (Fig. 1b–d). This evidence concerns the gene FBP1 and infection.
