The gene CNNM2 has previously been associated with hypertension, an important risk factor for IA.26–29 Colocalization analysis confirmed that a shared causal variant between increased IA risk and increased blood pressure, most likely being SNP rs11191580, in this CNNM2 locus is responsible for increased CNNM2 expression levels in tibial artery and in blood (Table S9). The gene discussed is CNNM2; the disease is hypertensive disorder.
