The expression levels of SPP1, fatty acid binding protein 4 (FABP4), and ribosomal protein S4 Y-linked 1 (RPS4Y1) were significantly higher, whereas the expression levels of pregnancy zone protein (PZP) and villin 1 (VIL1) were significantly decreased in patients with NAFLD. Here, SPP1 is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
