PTH and heart failure: One study that included 2312 participants free of cardiovascular disease followed up for a median of 14 years found that serum PTH concentrations ≥ 65 pg/mL were associated with an adjusted hazard ratio (aHR) for heart failure of 1.47 (95% confidence interval (CI) 1.19–1.80, p < 0.001) as well as cardiovascular death (1.30 (95% confidence interval (CI), 1.05–1.61, p = 0.03), but not all-cause mortality [3].
