CXCL9 and COVID-19: Reference [73] analyzed the plasmatic levels of inflammatory chemokines and cytokines in patients with COVID-19 and MIS-C and encountered higher levels of IL-6, CXCL8, CCL2/MCP-1, CXCL9/MIG, and CXCL10/IP-10 in MIS-C and higher levels of CCL5 in COVID-19, concluding that immunological events together with neutrophil activation might induce the multisystem and cardiovascular damage in MIS-C disease.
