Previous studies show that synaptosomal-associated protein 25 (SNAP-25) and synapsin 2 (SYN2) genes associated with synaptic vesicle release, were among the most prominently downregulated differentially expressed genes in the prefrontal cortex of humans with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) [2,3]. The gene discussed is SNAP25; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
