Although the exact extent of the increase of lipid supply from the two lipid-supporting routes was not determined, the simultaneous overexpression of multiple master regulators for lipid metabolism and uptake, including SREBP1, HIF1α, and PPARs (Figure 2), suggested that the extent of the increase could be enormous, and that a sufficient supply of lipid was very important for the growth and proliferation of lung cancer cells.
