In addition, we found that the overall expression of NLRP3, ASC, IL-1β and caspase-1 is higher in the peripheral blood of psoriatic patients compared to normal controls, implying that overactivation of the NLRP3 inflammasome may also contribute to psoriasis-associated inflammatory responses [85,145,146,147].
